This morning I stumbled upon a site called TalkSpot.com that is a project by Ken Williams.  Most of you probably don’t know the name, but Ken is the fellow who, along with his wife, helped define PC gaming in the 80s and 90s with his company Sierra On-Line.  At any rate, if you’re looking to set up a simple website (a few pages, photo gallery, etc), check it out.  They have quite a few templates to choose from and editing things to your liking is pretty simple.

If you’re looking for more of a blog-type website, I’d suggest Wordpress.com.  Wordpress is the software that this site runs on.  It’s a very powerful yet easy to use site and they have a huge number of templates you can choose from.  It also has a feature that is very effective at blocking comment spam.

Note: both of these will result in a website address like pumpfirst.wordpress.com or pumpfirst.talkspot.com.

Update (03/08/2008): It looks like Google has incorporated Google Sites into my Google domains site (or whatever it is), NeeOnline.  Any user on the domain can simply create a site and choose if it’s public or private.  I will look into this more.
